Engadget is reporting that both Radio Shack and Target will be lowering the price of the AT&T iPhone 4 tomorrow. They will re-price the iPhone 4 to $169.99 for the 16 GB model and $269.99 for the 32 GB model. The 8 GB iPhone 3GS will also be dropping to a $19.99 price point.

This probably means one thing - Apple is planning a refresh for the iPhone, soon.

Anyone planning on making the jump or upgrading to the iPhone 4 when these prices become official tomorrow?

SprintFeed is reporting Sprint's latest End-Of-Life list. Sadly, we will soon be saying "bye" to some major players in Sprint's lineup, including the Evo 4G, and Epic 4G. Those devices are scheduled to die in October.

Some others that will be leaving include the Transform which will also be in October, the Blackberry Bold 9650 and Blackberry Curve 3G in September.

We're always sad when major devices leave the world, but all good things must come to an end, right? Sprint has just grown up, and now they're sporting 4G, 3D phones.

We're sure Sprint will keep some major game-changers in their lineup once these are gone.

What's BlackBerry got up it's sleeve? According to their post on Facebook, something "shiny, new and social all over" is coming today. We have absolutely no idea what it is, but we sure hope it's not another Facebook buttoned phone.

It could very well be the new Torch 2, or possibly the Storm 3, or maybe a Bold Touch. Or maybe something so insanely awesome it hasn't even been leaked (I doubt it though).

We can't wait to see what it is, and we will definitely report it as soon as we know.

On July 22nd, U.S. District Court Judge Douglas P. Woodlock dismissed the case.

In 2008, Facebook offered the twins 65 million in cash and stock, to just get over their griefs and give up. But, the group declined, claiming they created Facebook.

This won't be the last we hear from them, considering their lawyer is planning to file a motion to re-open the case.

He admitted that most customers don't even know what a "gigabyte" is or how to get to it. And, he's right.

He was also asked if tiered data plans would become and option if data-hungry customers begin to move to Sprint, he confirmed that having enough bandwidth to go around "could become a problem." Sprint is working with OEM's to implement things such as "WiFi offload," and as of right now he is telling the world that "nothing is guaranteed forever"

Which is simpler terms, they want to keep unlimited for as long as possible, but they could move to limited data plans later on.

It's not a super-phone like we are used to seeing now-a-days, but it has the potential to make a hard working person a very happy person. It rocks an 1820 mAh battery, so there should be no problem making it through the day.

It's Motorola's first WiMax device, and Sprint's first Tegra 2 device. When we saw this device, it was running MotoBlur, (or whatever Motorola is calling it now), but it looks like Sprint has convinced Motorola to put Sprint ID on it.

This device will launch to the general public on July 31st for $199 dollars on contract, but Sprint Premiere customers will have access to it on July 28th.

The device will have a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 4.3 inch display, an 8 MP rear camera, and a VGA front facing camera, it's has world phone capabilities, it sports 16 GB of on-board memory and support of up to a 32 GB SD card, and 1 GB or RAM.

This device looks awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Oh, and for those wondering about the bootloader on this, they have said it won't ship with an unlocked one. Motorola has said they plan to unlock them by late-2011.

It's the exact same phone, with the same name. It has the same qHD screen (540 x 960), the same 1.2 GHz processor, the same stereoscopic 3D screen, and 1730 mAh battery. The only thing changed is a GSM radio was added, and a few very small cosmetic changes.

Which leads us to wonder why HTC didn't tweak a few things and change the name. The Desire HD was an Evo 4G in Europe.

No carriers in Europe were announced, nor pricing. Stay with us, we will report as soon as we get some answers.

Sadly, if you are a premiere customer, you're not getting any special treatment, other then getting to order it a day earlier. No discounts or anything like that.

It'll cost you the standard $199.99 on a new two year contract - which might seem worth it considering it's a 3D phone. If you choose to go the no-contract route, it will cost you $549.99. We have no idea if you will get these will be shipping out in the morning though.

On the plus side, you can brag to all your non-premiere friends. You ordered your 3D phone three days (it's launching to the world on June 24th) before they could, you know, if you're into that sort of thing.

Which will be Nokia's first MeeGo device. It's sporting a 3.9" 854 x 480 AMOLED screen, 1GHz OMAP 3630 Processor (same one found in the Droid X, Droid 2, and Pre2.), a PowerVR SGX530 graphics processor, 16GB or 64GB of on-board storage, and 1GB of RAM. It also features an NFC chip for mobile payments. On the software side, it's running MeeGo 2.1.

This phone is interesting, because it has no front facing buttons. To unlock the device, you simply tap on the screen three times. That would take some serious time to get used too!

The internals are wrapped with a plastic exterior, which Nokia claims will rock "superior antenna performance." The Nokia N8 featured a 12 MP camera, while this one has an 8 MP camera, capable of shooting HD video. It'll ship in three colors - cyan, magenta, and black.

We are very interested in this device, but we wish it was the first Nokia device to run Windows Phone 7. We can't wait to see some of the hardware Nokia pumps out running Windows Phone 7.

According to Android Central, the Xperia X10 is getting Gingerbread in August. I have the same stance towards it now, as I did before. I'll believe it when we see it.

They are planning on launching it in the beginning of August. They have provided us some details into what we will see when this update hits

- The original camera user interface will stay the same.
- The new Facebook inside Xperia will be included
- Xperia Arc features will be included
- DLNA will not be included

Now for the bad news. Just because this update is planned for August, that doesn't mean AT&T users will see it in August. Remember the Android 2.1 update was launched in October 2010, but AT&T users didn't get it until May 31st 2011. Who knows if AT&T users will even see Gingerbread this year, or ever.

Check out the video of Gingerbread being demoed.

Motorola and Sprint have teamed up to announce the Photon 4G this morning. It's got a 4.3 inch qHD display, a 8 MP rear camera, a VGA front facing camera, it will be running Gingerbread at launch with Motorola's new Blur, and a HDMI port, so we are wondering if it will be compatible with Motorola's Webtop.

If you count the Atrix as being 4G, it's Motorola's second 4G device, beating out the Droid Bionic on Verizon. If you don't count the Atrix as 4G, it's Motorola's first 4G device.

Another first was brought to the market by Motorola, it's a 4G WiMAX, CDMA, and GSM phone. Making it a world phone too.

It has 16 GB of on-board storage, expandable up to 32 GB making it a total of 48 GB. It's got a 1700 mAh battery, so it will be interesting to see how the battery life is. The bootloader will be unlocked, for all the hackers out there. Sadly, pricing and release information were not announced.

This looks like another solid option for Motorola, and we are excited to check this phone out once it is released.

Update - Motorola has said that the Photon 4G will not ship with an unlockable/relockable bootloader. Sorry guys.

Check out the press release below

Apple recently finished up their annual WWDC opening keynote. They didn't announce any new hardware, but they announced plenty of software.

Mac OS X Lion - First off, they gave us a launch date. It will be launching in July, for $29.99. Multi-Touch capabilities are built Laptops. Allowing for gesture controls, tap-to-zoom, and two finger swiping. Lion allows for applications to use the entire screen real estate, instead of just the window. You can morph iPhoto, Mail, etc into full screen. Mission Control - This is my favorite feature. It allows you to see what is running on your Mac at any time. Simply swipe on your track-pad to view all of the applications or websites you have open. Versions - It will create a new version of a document each time it is opened. So you can revert to older versions if need be. Airdrop is also a nice feature. It allows file transfer from one machine to another by simply dragging and dropping. The Mail program was also updated to include search, and conversations.

iOS 5 - WOW! Apple has finally updated some of the major problems iOS currently has. They have added over 200 new features, but I believe the notification system was affected the hardest. They have completely revamped notifications, making them less obtrusive. They have put notifications on the top, similar to Android. This lets you access all of your notifications. Stocks and weather have also been added. Newsstand was announced, and it is a direct line to newspapers, and magazines. If your favorite magazine comes out when your asleep, it will automatically be downloaded and waiting for you in the morning. Safari was updated, making it able to optimize pages for iOS devices. Which will make them easier to read for the end-users. Reminders allows users to create a to-do list. Apple and Twitter also have a relationship now. Apple has pushed Twitter integration into iOS. Meaning you can tweet from your camera, Safari, your photo album, and even share contact information. There is now a camera button on your lockscreen, the volume up and down button can be used to snap a picture, Pinch-to-Zoom can be used in the camera, and you can edit your photos directly from your phone. iMessage is their answer to BBM, you can send a text message between iPhone, and iPad's. You can send photos, messages, videos, contacts etc from one device to another. PC Free is also new, you can download updates over-the-air. When you first buy your iPhone, you will see a welcome screen, not a screen telling you to connect to iTunes. The keyboard can also be split into two, making it easier to type. iOS 5 will be launching sometime this fall.

iCloud - Apple has entered the world of cloud computing. Users are now able to push things to the cloud, including Books, Photos, Contacts, Pages, Keynotes, and Music. Lets say you create a new document, it's automatically synced to the cloud. When you purchase a book, bang- automatically synced to the cloud. Contacts, and calendar events are also synced to the cloud. On photos, your last 1000 pictures will be stored on your device, all of them will be stored on your computer, and they will be stored for 30 days on the iCloud servers. iTunes is also in the cloud, meaning if you purchase one song, it will be transferred to all of your other devices for no additional charge. You can also set your purchases to automatically download after the purchase. Apple has also announced iTunes Match, meaning it will take all of your music, update them to 256k AAC, DRM free and give them the same access to your devices for $24.99 a year. Say you have a ton of non-iTunes purchased music. With iTunes Match, it can take that music, update it, and put it in the cloud.

Now, the Toshiba Thrive has also been announced.

It's sporting a 10.1 inch screen, like the Galaxy Tab 10.1, full sized HDMI, and USB ports, a full sized SD card slot. You won't have any problems connecting anything, because it ships with Honeycomb 3.1, which has several connection options.

It will be launching in July, with some nice prices too. $429 for the 8GB model, $479 for the 16GB model, and $579 for the 32GB model.

This looks like it could be a nice addition to the Honeycomb family. Anyone interested? [IMAGE CREDIT]

Verizon and Motorola have finally made it official. It seems like we saw a leak just about everyday, so we just stopped reporting on it. The second generation Droid X, being called the Droid X2 has been announced, and it's up for online-order tomorrow, May 19, and will hit stores on May 26th.

It has the same sized display, but this one will be qHD, meaning 540 x 960, the same 8 megapixel, 720p recording camera, a new Dual-Core processor, Android 2.2, and will soon be updated to 2.3.

Engadget also notes that the HDMI and charging ports are separated, similar to the Atrix on AT&T, they are wondering if this device will soon be compatible with Webtop devices.

Again, it's coming online tomorrow, and will be available in stores on the 26th, for $200 dollars on a new, two-year contract.

Engadget is reporting that the HTC Flyer's stylus will not be included in the box. Anyone who pre-ordered the Flyer mad yet? No? Well you will be.

That stylus is going to cost you another $80 dollars. The stylus will be available on all of them, excluding the Best Buy model.

This has also been confirmed by the HTC PR team. The price of the pen is outrageous, considering the competition's offering is a lot less. The HP Slate 500's cost roughly $22 dollars, if you misplace the one that comes with it.

Anyone else think that HTC is making a bad decision not including it in the box?

The FCC is allowing you to provide them with your opinion on the AT&T&T Meger. It's nice that they are letting you get your opinion out there, but is anyone actually reading them?

They provided two options, one for short comments, and one for long documents, such as a PDF. You can find them here - short comments and long comments.

The Proceeding Number is 11-65.

I've already submitted my opinion, and I am totally against this merger. We encourage you to get your opinion out too.

That's right. T-Mobile is calling your bluff. If you live in Seattle, and you have an iPhone, Verizon or AT&T, take it in to a participating T-Mobile store on Friday April 29th through Sunday May 1st.

Think you can beat their Galaxy S? They have $1000 saying you can't. If you can, you got yourself a lucky $1000 dollars.

T-Mobile is requiring that you succeed in at least two out of three speed tests. Although T-Mobile has good coverage in Seattle, they aren't the best. See chart below [Credit]

It's a bold bet on T-Mobile's end, but they seem pretty confident. Anyone taking the challenge?

Today, Verizon announced that the Samsung Droid Charge will be available on April 28th for an outrageous price of $299.99 with a new two year contract.

This is Verizon's first 4G Droid, but it isn't their first 4G phone. Why the Thunderbolt didn't get the Droid tag is beyond me. It will be running Android 2.2, which is a disappointment considering some devices are close to seeing a Gingerbread update.

One nice feature is you can share your 4G connection with up to 10 people.

Again, it's launching on April 28th, for $300 dollars on contract. Anyone else not ready for the era of $300 dollar smartphones?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple has sued Samsung Electronics for copying the iPhone and iPad. While it's obvious that they are mainly directed towards the Galaxy S 4G, and Vibrant, they are also targeting the Epic 4G, the Fascinate and the Nexus S.

Apple's claim states this,

"Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple's technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products."

But, I have to say, if I was Apple's legal team, I would sue Samsung too. TouchWiz UI is very similar to iOS. That's actually why I returned my Fascinate, the software resembled an iPhone so much it was boring to use.

If you were Samsung's Legal Team, what do you think you would do? Try and work out a deal with Apple? What if you were Apple's? Let us know.

You can add this to your rumor list.

Samsung rep claims we could see the Nexus S 4G launch on April 15th. I already knew that it would launch before the end of April, and it looks like we could finally see a rumored official date. I would always take any rumor's with a grain-of-salt.

It recently passed the FCC, so it's crossed the biggest road-block.

I wanted to get this out there so if anyone was possibly planning to purchase one of these, (like myself) you could get some kind of idea.

We are one step closer to knowing what Blockbuster's final fate will be. Dish Network announced this morning that they plan to purchase Blockbuster for $320 million, but they expect to pay approximately $228 million.

The purchase is expected to occur in the second quarter of 2011. They said they are "looking forward to working with Blockbuster's employees to re-establish the Blockbuster brand, as leader in video entertainment"

Blockbuster has a long way to go, especially in a world where Netflix, and RedBox are dominating. Does anyone else agree that it probably would have been easier to just let them end?

T-Mobile probably thought they should jump on the Flyer train, based on Sprint's announcement of the Evo View 4G.

Images that show a re-branding of their YouTube page suggest it will be coming to the United States. Sprint is launching their version later this summer, but no release date was given for the possible T-Mobile version.

This will be a nice addition to the T-Mobile tablet family, which include the Galaxy Tab, Dell Streak 7, and the upcoming G-Slate. What makes the HTC Flyer stand out is it's HTC Scribe technology, which allows the user to draw with a specialized pen.

They say it will provide a very similar experience to the Arc, Play, and Neo devices. Needless to say, I am going to have to see an official update rolling out before I will even consider believing this.

Research in Motion (or RIM) is allowing their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to run Android applications. This is quite surprising, seeing how Blackberry OS and Android OS are competitors. Isn't much to know here, the Playbook will run Android apps.

See a copy of the press release below.

RIM Expands Application Ecosystem for BlackBerry PlayBook

- BlackBerry PlayBook to support BlackBerry Java and Android apps

- Native C/C++ development support added, in addition to HTML5, Flash and AIR support

- Support from leading game engines: Ideaworks Labs (AirPlay) and Unity Technologies (Unity 3)

- BlackBerry PlayBook becomes a new market opportunity for all the developers who have already created over 25,000 BlackBerry Java apps and more than 200,000 Android apps

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 24, 2011) - Developers wanting to bring their new and existing apps to the highly anticipated BlackBerry® PlayBookTM tablet will soon have additional tools and options to enhance and expand their commercial opportunities. Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM)(TSX:RIM) today announced plans to greatly expand the application ecosystem for the BlackBerry PlayBook. The BlackBerry PlayBook is scheduled to launch in the U.S. and Canada on April 19.

RIM will launch two optional "app players" that provide an application run-time environment for BlackBerry Java® apps and Android v2.3 apps. These new app players will allow users to download BlackBerry Java apps and Android apps from BlackBerry App World and run them on their BlackBerry PlayBook.

In addition, RIM will shortly release the native SDK for the BlackBerry PlayBook enabling C/C++ application development on the BlackBerry® Tablet OS. For game-specific developers, RIM is also announcing that it has gained support from two leading game development tooling companies, allowing developers to use the cross-platform game engines from Ideaworks Labs and Unity Technologies to bring their games to the BlackBerry PlayBook.

Support for BlackBerry Java and Android Apps

"The BlackBerry PlayBook is an amazing tablet. The power that we have embedded creates one of the most compelling app experiences available in a mobile computing device today," said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at Research In Motion. "The upcoming addition of BlackBerry Java and Android apps for the BlackBerry PlayBook on BlackBerry App World will provide our users with an even greater choice of apps and will also showcase the versatility of the platform."

Developers currently building for the BlackBerry or Android platforms will be able to quickly and easily port their apps to run on the BlackBerry Tablet OS thanks to a high degree of API compatibility. The new optional app players will be available for download from BlackBerry App World and will be placed in a secure "sandbox" on the BlackBerry PlayBook where the BlackBerry Java or Android apps can be run.

Developers will simply repackage, code sign and submit their BlackBerry Java and Android apps to BlackBerry App World. Once approved, the apps will be distributed through BlackBerry App World, providing a new opportunity for many developers to reach BlackBerry PlayBook users. Users will be able to download both the app players and the BlackBerry Java and Android apps from BlackBerry App World.

The BlackBerry PlayBook and BlackBerry Tablet OS are built on the QNX® Neutrino® microkernel architecture with a 1GHz dual core processor and a leading OpenGL solution, which allows RIM to make this incredibly broad platform support possible.

BlackBerry PlayBook users and developers who are interested in seeing the new app players for BlackBerry Java and Android apps can see demos at BlackBerry World in Orlando, Florida (May 3 to 5, 2011) (www.blackberryworld.com).

BlackBerry Tablet OS Development Tools

The BlackBerry Tablet OS already supports an incredibly robust platform with support for Web development standard HTML5, through the BlackBerry® WebWorksTM SDK for Tablet OS, and Adobe® AIR®, through the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR. The BlackBerry Tablet OS is built from the ground up to run WebKit and Adobe® Flash® as well, giving developers a fast and true Web experience to leverage.

RIM is also announcing today that the BlackBerry Tablet OS Native Development Kit (NDK), which is currently in limited alpha release, will go into open Beta by this summer and be demonstrated at BlackBerry World. The BlackBerry Tablet OS NDK will allow developers to build high-performance, multi-threaded, native C/C++ applications with industry standard GNU toolchains. Developers can create advanced 2D and 3D applications and special effects by leveraging programmable shaders available in hardware-accelerated OpenGL ES 2.0.

Other features of the BlackBerry Tablet OS NDK will allow developers to:

* Take advantage of the QNX POSIX library support and C/C++ compliance for quick and easy application porting and for creating native extensions for both BlackBerry and Android applications
* Easily integrate device events like gesture swipes and touch screen inputs
* Integrate the BlackBerry Tablet OS environment into existing code management and build systems using industry standard Eclipse CDT (C/C++ Development Tools)
* Leverage work done in standard C/C++ to make it easier to bring applications to the BlackBerry Tablet OS
* Find and fix bugs quickly with provided debug and analysis tools

"The response to the BlackBerry PlayBook from the developer community has been exceptional. Our commitment to supporting HTML5 and Adobe AIR development has resonated and spurred developers to create fun and innovative applications for BlackBerry PlayBook users," said David Yach, Chief Technology Officer, Software at Research In Motion. "The upcoming BlackBerry Tablet OS NDK beta will add C/C++ tools to our repertoire and gives developers one of the broadest and deepest platforms to develop on."

Gaming Engines

Building on the power of the BlackBerry Tablet OS NDK, RIM is working with leading gaming and application development technology providers such as Ideaworks Labs and Unity Technologies to implement their native engines and application development platforms. Developers will be able to take advantage of these engines when building games and other applications for the BlackBerry PlayBook.

The Ideaworks Labs Airplay SDK is expected to include support for the BlackBerry Tablet OS soon, making it easy for publishers and developers to use their existing code to bring their games and apps to the BlackBerry PlayBook.

"Supporting a new OS can be a challenge for developers," says Alex Caccia, President of Ideaworks Labs, "however, integration of the BlackBerry Tablet OS with the Airplay SDK makes this a non-issue. We think this is a far-sighted move by RIM: the BlackBerry PlayBook is a great device for games and applications, and combining this with content distribution via BlackBerry App World brings an exciting new ecosystem for developers."

RIM has also been working closely with Unity Technologies, providers of the highly popular, multi-platform Unity development platform and Union, the firm's games distribution service. Through Union, dozens of high-quality Unity-authored games are slated to make their way to BlackBerry App World for the BlackBerry Playbook.

"With a sharp focus on the multimedia experience, very powerful hardware, and fantastic games in the pipeline, the BlackBerry Playbook has all the right ingredients to be a mainstream hit," said Brett Seyler, GM of Union at Unity Technologies. "Through Union, Unity developers have an opportunity to reach a new audience and grow with another great new platform."

Availability

The new app players for the BlackBerry PlayBook are expected to be available from BlackBerry App World this summer. More information and demonstrations of the new app players will be shared at BlackBerry World. The BlackBerry Tablet OS NDK will be available in beta later this year and will also be showcased at BlackBerry World.

He announced this during his web investor conference this morning.

Currently Webtop is exclusive to the Atrix 4G, which is exclusive to AT&T. He also mentioned that the Droid Bionic didn't include Webtop because of time limits. Currently, we have no idea what Motorola's definition of "high-end" is, but we can pretty much guess it will be dual-core processors, and lots of RAM, at least 1 GB.

We were also left to wonder if the Droid Bionic will receive an OTA which will allow it to work with Webtop.

The concept of Webtop seems very interesting, but Engadget notes in their review that "performance is sluggish, the trackpad lacks multi-touch, and it is very expensive."

Any user out there with an Atrix 4G, and a Webtop device? What is your opinion? [Image Credit]

Clearwire and Sprint have merged, creating Clear's and Sprint's 4G infrastructure. Clear is in some serious cash trouble, and has not secured future funding.

They are implementing cost cutting measures, which include layoffs, and suspension of additional market roll-outs. Meaning Sprint isn't getting anywhere in this massive, bloody, 4G battle.

I currently am a customer of Clear's, and I can easily guess why Clear is cash-strapped.

Clear isn't completely Clear - I will admit, I can be quite a gullible person, meaning I can trust companies such as Clear. When I signed up, I asked the agent, and several other people if Clear throttled. They, of course said they didn't and told me multiple times that I would not experience any problems with speed, or my connection going down. Well, I believed them, and I signed up.

I have not had any problems with my connection dropping, but speed is a major issue. Clear promises a "super fast" connection ranging from 3-6 Mbps download, and Upload speed topping off at 1 Mbps, with no data cap. Their customer service reps neglect to tell a new customer that Clear will "manage" you.

They do it to provide an "equal experience for all customers." I don't download much at all, no movies, just a few songs here and there, yet I am the target of their management system, time after time. When I call and complain, I get "It only lasts 3-4 days, you will be alright." That just adds more fuel to the raging fire.

They say they throttle you down to about 0.25 Mpbs down. On my most recent Speedtest, I received 0.18 Mpbs down.

Now, this might not be the only reason Clear is steadily losing money, but I am sure it plays a major roll in it. Needless to say, I am actively looking for a new ISP, and this time, I am doing some research before jumping on the bandwagon.

As of right now, I will not recommend Clear to anyone. If they get something done regarding their throttling, and their horrible customer service, I would consider changing my opinion.

You don't hear much out of Verizon regarding dropped calls, but we have recently heard that during some severe winter weather, Verizon dropped 10,000 or so emergency calls.

In one instance, a home in Silver Spring, Maryland caught fire, during that snowstorm that we mentioned above. A kind neighbor noticed the fire, and called 911 on his Verizon device. Or let me say, he tried to call 911 on his Verizon device. He was unable to get through, leaving the 94 year old lady trapped inside. He was able to save the lady, luckily.

After about 30 minutes of trying, he was able to get connected to emergency services. It seems like Verizon has quite a problem, that needs to be resolved.

Unfortunately, many of the rumored dates turned out to be false, leaving us to wonder if the Verizon Wireless, HTC Merge was killed off.

Today, we were given the answer. HTC has finally made the Merge an official device. Saying it will be coming to multiple North American carriers in "Spring 2011." We have seen the device leaked on both Verizon, and Alltel. HTC is not a stranger to any of those two carriers.

It is a CDMA device, with World Phone capabilities, which marks a first for HTC. No idea whether or not this will be a 4G device when it hits Verizon.

The specs are pretty much the same that we've seen. A 3.8 inch display, Android 2.2 with Sense, and a 5 MP camera, with the ability to record in 720p. Making this a pretty nice, average smartphone.

Although we are quite happy that HTC has finally made this device official, we are still quite shocked that it wasn't released 6 or 7 months ago.

See the official press release below,

Sprint, today has pulled the Epic 4G's update to Froyo. Claiming there have been increasing calls stating the device is having connectivity issues, and SD card problems.

They claim that Samsung is working quickly to fix the issue, and continue to roll it out to all devices. Sadly, no timeline was given. Knowing Samsung, it could be awhile.

Here's Sprint official word,

There have been an increased number of calls into Care regarding issues with the Epic following the upgrade. As a result, the upgrade will not be pushed to more devices until a resolution for these issues is in place. The OTW update on the Samsung website will also be taken down.

Sprint and Samsung are actively working to correct these problems and release the update to all devices.

The issues being reported are related to data connectivity following the upgrade and SD card issues when attempting to access photos, music, etc. If you are experiencing these issues, a hard reset has been reported to resolve the problems. A hard reset will wipe out all the data on your device, so a backup should be done first.

Samsung is already behind the curve, even updating the device to Froyo. Who know's if they will see Gingerbread....probably not.

Just a word of advice, we don't recommend the purchase of a Samsung Android device, as you may never see a software update.

Twitter has went on to say that those clients ,

...."have violated Twitter policies and trademarks in a variety of ways. These violations include, but aren’t limited to, a privacy issue with private Direct Messages longer than 140 characters, trademark infringement, and changing the content of users’ Tweets in order to make money."

UberTwitter was even asked to change their name, so it was changed to UberSocial. Of course, they are planning to release something to get them back on the map. Twidroyd should be back up in the Android Market soon.

Here is the official press release from UberMedia

STATEMENT FROM UBERMEDIA REGARDING TWITTER’S SUSPENSION OF SERVICE TO UBERTWITTER, TWIDROYD AND UBERCURRENT

PASADENA, CA – February 18, 2011 – Early Friday morning, Twitter shut off access to its service by several of our Twitter client applications: UberTwitter, Twidroyd, and UberCurrent. Twitter then notified us that they believed we were in violation of several provisions of their terms of service.

We were immediately in touch with Twitter, and the changes they asked us to make were very small. As a result, we have completed the changes, and new apps are currently being posted to their respective stores. Twitter has assured us that as soon as those changes were complete, they would reactivate our applications.

Twitter also asked us to modify the name of UberTwitter. We began a process of changing the name three weeks ago by polling our users, and we’ve decided based on their input to change the product name to UberSocial, which we completed today.

To our millions of loyal users, we appreciate your patience during this temporary period. We look forward to continuing our innovations on the Twitter platform.

Bill Gross, CEO
UberMedia, Inc.

A man that goes by Dean Kaplan was told he can not sell his iPad cutting boards. A wood cutting board, seriously Apple? I believe you are taking things to an extreme now.

He was told that it had something to do with the "likeness" when he was told he was told he couldn't sell his iPad, and iPhone stencils. Which is probably why he couldn't sell this too.

Apple, take some advice, nobody would confuse that as an actual iPad. Calm down.

Power to the people!

While many were expecting something like a 4G iPhone or a Windows Phone 7 device, we were given this. Both screens together equal 4.7 inches. Seven apps have been "optimized" to run and function on both screens, such as browser, mail, and messaging.

You knew this was coming. WWDC is still a few months away, and leaks haven't started yet, but it never hurts to throw out a few early predictions. I'm sure we will post some new predictions later in the year, around WWDC time.

What I expect or want to see in the next iPhone:

- At least a 4.0" display - 3.5 inch was nice, in 2007-2009. Other devices are launching with 5" displays. Apple should step it up a little and enlarge their display.

- Dual Core 1 GHz processor - To stay ahead, they are going to have to include at least a dual core 1 GHz processor.

- 8 MP rear camera - Again, competitors are matching, or exceeding 5 MP cameras. To stay ahead, defiantly needed.

- 1080p video recording

- 2 MP front facing camera

- 4G - 4G wars are at full force. 4G devices are launching or being announced left and right.

- Sprint and T-Mobile 4G - Can you blame us? Customers want choice.

Those are some early predictions. Who knows what we will see.

What do you think we will see? What would you like to see? Let us know.

Today, AT&T has announced that their CES star, the Atrix 4G will be coming on March 6th "or earlier", for $199 on a 2 year contract. Pre-orders will begin on February 13th.

If you decide to purchase the laptop dock along with the phone, it will cost you $499.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate. If you decide to purchase the dock separately at a different time, it will cost you $500 dollars. *Hint - It's smarter to purchase it with the phone.*

They are also announcing something called an Entertainment Package, which includes the multimedia dock, a Bluetooth keyboard, and mouse, and a remote. It will cost $199.

That's a lot of money for a phone that is destined to be the best of 2011. If you want to pick up the phone, and the laptop dock, you're going to be shelling out $500 dollars. Or, if you decide to purchase the phone first, then the laptop dock later and you're going to be shelling out $700 dollars. Plus another $200 if you decide to purchase an entertainment package.

An industry first, the Motorola ATRIX 4G is the leading edge of more than 20 advanced, 4G devices AT&T plans to deliver in 2011.
AT&T will offer two special packages for customers who choose to purchase ATRIX 4G in addition to these unique accessories. The first combines ATRIX 4G and the Motorola Laptop Dock for a promotional price of $499.99 after a two-year service contract and $100 mail-in-rebate after subscription to Data Pro smartphone data plan and tethering add on. Customers who choose to purchase the Motorola Laptop Dock separately pay $499.99. In addition, any ATRIX 4G user, whether or not they have U-verse TV at home, can still enjoy a variety of video options - including live TV - with the new U-verse Live TV application, preloaded and available for $9.99 a month.

AT&T has announced that they will start selling the Inspire 4G on February 13th. This device is the first "4G" device of many planned. Actually, they are planning on launching 20 devices. While many can argue that HSPA+ is not 4G, AT&T is also planning to launch LTE soon.

The phone has a 4.3" inch display, which will be the largest in their lineup, and it will be the first to offer HTC's new Sense. This phone is a pretty high-end device, with a low-end price of $99 dollars. Which is great. Maybe, carriers are starting to realize that $200 is pretty steep for a 2-year contract.

Again, this will be available on February 13th, in stores and online. Anyone planning on picking one up?

From looking at the annoying GIF images, you can see that Motorola has changed quite a few things, and they have included what appears to be the Droid Bionic version of MotoBlur.

Will this version go into Verizon testing, who knows. But it defiantly looks nice, and I can't wait to try it out.

No idea when it will launch, but I can assure you that Nexus One users are not happy. Check out the images
