Apple today began inviting the press to a media event that will take place on October 23, 2012. The company is widely expected to announce a smaller version of the iPad, and could also use the event to unveil a 13-inch version of the Retina MacBook Pro and a redesigned iMac. The event's tagline is "We've got a little more to show you." Apple is also expected to spend the time discussing iBooks.
