Apple confirmed to Wired today that pre-orders for the next-generation iPhone 5, which was unveiled yesterday, will begin at 12:01 AM Pacific time this Friday, September 14, 2012. Verizon Wireless and Sprint have also both confirmed that pre-orders on their websites for the new iPhone will start shortly after midnight. AT&T, however, has yet to reveal its pre-order plans to customers.

The iPhone 5 will start at $199 for the 16 GB model with a new two-year contract with your carrier.
