Sony yesterday officially unveiled the Bravia KD-84X9005, an 84-inch LED TV that features a remarkable 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution, which is also known as "4K." The TV, which is the largest in Sony's history, also includes a 10-unit speaker system and passive 3D technology. The TV also sports Wi-Fi connectivity.
Since there isn't a lot of 4K content available at this time, Sony is including a technology that will automatically upscale video to the resolution of the display.
The TV will be released to the public by the end of this year and will cost Europeans €25,000 to purchase. Pricing for the United States has yet to be announced.
