Google rolls out new favicon

Earlier this week, Google rolled out a new favicon for its homepage that features a cleaner, light-blue design than the older icon. A favorite icon, or “favicon” for short, is the icon shown in a web browser’s address bar (and sometimes bookmarks bar) when viewing a website.

Google has used the favicon below since 2009, and it has easily become recognizable by many people. The new favicon seems to be similar to the one Google introduced back in 2008, just with a different color scheme.
