Late last month, Apple began airing three new advertisements for the Mac that feature an Apple "Genius" assisting customers with their  computer. The ads received mostly poor reviews as consumers believe the ads aren't as funny as Apple intended them to be.

While Apple continues to display the new ads on its website and YouTube channel, Mashable reports that the company has stopped airing them on TV. A representative claims, however, the ads stopped airing because they were only intended for the opening weekend of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

A rep for TBWA/Media/Arts Lab, Apple’s ad agency, says the ads are not running anymore, but that was the plan all along. The ads were intended only for a “first run” during the Olympics, which meant just the first weekend of the Games, the rep says.
