According to numerous reports over the past several hours (most notably from iMore), Apple will be holding a media event on September 12, 2012 to announce the next-generation iPhone, as well as a smaller version of the iPad. The smaller iPad is expected to sport a 7.85-inch display, while the next iPhone is expected to sport a taller design with a larger display, 4G LTE support, a smaller dock connector, and a metal back. The report also claims that the next-generation iPhone will launch nine days later, on September 21.
