Yesterday, Google announced the release of an updated version of the Google Earth app for iOS (App Store link), adding support for 3D imaging. The feature, which requires an iPhone 4S or an iPad 2 or later, will also be launching in Apple’s new Maps app that will be coming with iOS 6, due for release later this year. The fact that Google beat Apple to releasing the feature, however, is a major win.
