Google's Android stand at Mobile World Congress 2012

Earlier today, Google's Andy Rubin announced that the company's Android OS platform now sees over 850,000 device activations everyday, with more than 450,000 apps available for download by customers in the Android Market. Rubin says that the total number of Android-based devices is now past 300 million worldwide, representing a 250% year-over-year growth.

Just last Summer, Google was reporting that 550,000 Android devices were being activated each day.
