Going for a more modern look with actual windows, Microsoft showed off the newly designed Windows 8 logo Friday.
The logo sports 3D style windows with a simple modern font showing "Windows 8." Microsoft's Windows Team Blog explains that since Windows 8 is a complete new look on an operating system they are going for a complete new look on the logo as well.
It has long been noted that in the recent past Microsoft has used a "flag" type look to the logo. The company brought in Paula Scher from the Pentagram design agency and she simply asked "your name is Windows. Why are you a flag?"
