According to a report from TechCrunch, Facebook plans to begin placing what it is calling "Sponsored Stories" into users' News Feeds in January 2012. The ads will appear once every day and clearly be labeled as "Sponsored" to inform people that the story is not from friends or another source.
The ads will also be related to users' friends and/or pages that they "like" on the social network. There won't be a way to opt out of the Sponsored Stories, nor will the mobile version of Facebook be receiving the ads anytime soon, the article reports.
