Following Activision's announcement last week that 6.5 million copies of Modern Warfare 3 were sold in the first 24 hours of availability, the game publisher today announced that 12.3 million copies were sold in the first week. Revenue for the game is being listed at roughly $738 million.
Activision also stated that more than seven (7) million copies of the latest first-person shooter game out of Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games were sold for the Xbox 360, while 4.8 million were sold for the PlayStation 3. The Xbox 360 sales figure is actually a new record for the most copies sold on a single game console (record previously held by Call of Duty: Black Ops).
