As expected, Amazon unveiled the "Kindle Fire" tablet today. The Kindle Fire, which is based on Android OS, is essentially the classic Kindle (with improved specs) and 10,000 apps available for download from Amazon's Appstore. The Kindle Fire, which sports a 7-inch display, will cost $199 when it hits the market on November 15.
The tablet will only have Wi-Fi connectivity and weighs in at 14.6 ounces. The Kindle Fire won't include a camera or microphone. The device will come with 8 GB of onboard storage, a dual-core processor, and an 8-hour battery life. Other specifications are unknown at this time.
