Today, Facebook announced "Timeline," a completely redesigned profile page that allows users of the social network to display more relevant information about themselves. Timeline is wider and "more visual" than the old Facebook profiles and includes a "giant" photo right smack at the top. The photo is your cover and you choose what goes up there.
As you scroll down past your cover, you'll see your posts, photos and life events as they happened in time. You choose what's featured on your timeline. You can star your favorites to double their size or hide things altogether.
In addition, there is a private activity log, which allows users to see everything they have done on Facebook since joining the social network.

Moving on, Facebook has also launched the ability to share what you're doing in real time. For example, users have the ability to listen to the same song or watch the same TV show as their friends.
This new social app will be available beginning today. The Timeline will be rolling out in the coming weeks and users will have the option to publish it immediately or wait a few days to review everything.
