Engadget is reporting that Sprint's CEO, Dan Hesse confirmed they aren't following Virgin Mobile (which runs off of Sprint's 3G network) in terms of tiered data plans.

He admitted that most customers don't even know what a "gigabyte" is or how to get to it. And, he's right.

He was also asked if tiered data plans would become and option if data-hungry customers begin to move to Sprint, he confirmed that having enough bandwidth to go around "could become a problem." Sprint is working with OEM's to implement things such as "WiFi offload," and as of right now he is telling the world that "nothing is guaranteed forever"

Which is simpler terms, they want to keep unlimited for as long as possible, but they could move to limited data plans later on.
