According to Develop, Sony has begun sending out PlayStation Portable 2 (PSP2) development kits to a number of game studios. The portable gaming console reportedly has a much-needed hardware upgrade with claims of 60 frames per second during gaming.
It was claimed earlier in the year that developers were shown the device, and Sony has since sent out dev kits to numerous development studios – both third-party and in-house.
The report also claims that Sony is preparing a "significant launch window line-up" for the PSP2, making it clear that the company wants to get this thing out into the world and have everyone know about it.
Sony is expected to announce the PSP2 sometime in early 2011, possibly at CES.
