If you've visited Google.com today, you probably noticed their funky logo designed out of tiny circles that move around and animate when you hover your mouse over them. We've got to admit, the logo looks cool, but that's not the real reason Google designed it.
Tech Crunch is reporting that Google is holding a "big search event" tomorrow, Wednesday September 7th in San Francisco’s MOMA. Earlier today, Google tweeted: "Boisterous doodle today. Maybe it's excited about the week ahead..." Meanwhile, Search Engine Roundtable is reporting that a Google spokesperson has stated that “today’s doodle is not related to a birthday but is fast, fun and interactive, just the way we think search should be.”
This has lead to some speculation to what Google will be announcing at their "Search on" event tomorrow, but the most likely ones are: AJAX-powered search results, 30 results per page, and streaming results as you type.
It seems pretty clear that there will be some type of new feature(s) to Google search, if not an entire revamp.
