First U.S. LTE phone approved by FCC

According to filing in the FCC’s database, the Samsung SCH-R900 has been approved in the United States. the SCH-R900 is the first LTE network-based phone that has been approved in the United States and it is expected to hit store shelves sometime after this summer.

There is not much known about the device, other than the fact that it carries certifications for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, dual band 1700 / 1900 LTE and EVDO data.

LTE technology is a new mobile network interface that Verizon Wireless and AT&T are both testing, and planning to roll out soon in the United States. LTE technology is faster and more stable than the current 3G and 4G network.
