After a few tense months between the Chinese government and Google, the country has decided to renew Google's license to host Google.cn, a censored version of Google.
Back in March, Google had completely removed Google.cn, redirecting it the Google.com.hk, Google Hong Kong, which is uncensored. It was then clear that the Chinese government would not renew Google's license to host.
However, Google then changed their attitude towards to situation and instead of removing Google.cn and redirecting it, they provided a link for users to Google.com.hk on Google.cn.
According to a blog post made today, Google has had their license to host in China renewed.
"We are very pleased that the government has renewed our ICP license and we look forward to continuing to provide web search and local products to our users in China"
The battle between China and Google first began earlier in the year when Google claimed they were hacked by the Chinese government. It was later rumored that Google hacked the Chinese government back, but nothing was every confirmed. Google has threatened to pull all operations out of China previously as well.
