Woot! has announced via their blog that they have just signed a deal with Amazon.com that will allow Amazon to buy the popular website. The terms of the deal was not disclosed.

Woot! is a popular website that allows customers to purchase brand-new products for a cheaper price than retail and other online websites. For example, today's Woot! is a 8 GB iPod Nano 5th generation (the newest one) for $99.99.

Woot! will remain an independent company, however, will run under the watchful eye of Amazon.

“Holy crap! Woot has signed an agreement with Amazon – yes, the Amazon – to become an independent subsidiary of the ecommerce colossus. Woot HQ will remain in Carrollton, Texas, and will operate as autonomously as other Amazon companies like Zappos and Audible. More details forthcoming after we pick our eyeballs up off of the floor. Anybody see where Lefty rolled off to?”
