Today, Apple announced their next iPhone, although we knew what it was going to look like, it was still pretty interesting to see some great new things being integrated into their next iPhone.

The new device has a glass front and back, which will probably make it pretty breakable. The stainless steal "band" that goes all the way around the phone is an antenna, with that it allows Apple to make a pretty thin device. During the months of leaks, names for the phone were also rumored, iPhone HD, iPhone 4G, and let me tell you why they didn't go with iPhone 4G, it's pretty simple, the next iPhone is not launching on AT&T's 4G network.

Of course it has a front and back camera, and on the back camera they improved it by adding some more Mega-pixels, five to be exact, and a LED Flash, also adding 5x digital zoom. The display was also improved, bumping it up to 960x640, and adding their next big thing, Retina Display, which makes things less blurry. Retina Display is ranked at 326 pixels per inch, which Apple says it the best the eye can do. IPS technology, same as the iPad offering 800:1 contrast, all in the same 3.5" screen.

It has an A4 1GHz Processor, which also runs on the iPad. The size of the phone is 25% thinner then the iPhone 3GS. The battery offers 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, and 40 hours of music. WiFi is also at 802.11n now.

The software is iOS 4, which was previously named iPhone OS 4. If developers put in a little bit of work, they can make their app fully compatible with the new display. The phone has a new gyroscope, which is great for gaming, it gives developers 6 axis motion control between gyroscope, accelerometer, and the compass. The back camera, also doubles as a camcorder, which record in 720p, and the video can be edited with the iMovie app which will be available in the app store for $4.99. You can video chat now with the new feature called "FaceTime," and it's a WiFi only feature.

The phone will be available for $199 for the 16 GB model, and $299 for the 32GB model. Oh, and a completely white model will show up too! The iPhone 3GS bumps down to $99 for the 8GB model. Pre-Orders will begin on June 15th, and it will be available for purchase on June 24th. A dock is coming soon for $29. The iPhone 3G will disappear.

UPDATE (By Brian): Apple has also announced that iPhone 4 will be available in the UK, France, Germany, and Japan on June 24th and 88 more countries in September.
