Engadget is reporting that ASUS has announced the Eee Pad tablet computer line at Computex 2010 in Taipei. The Eee Pad gets its name from the company's netbook line. The Eee Pad will have two different versions.
The EP121 will sport a 12" screen, Core 2 Duo CULV processor, Windows 7 OS, and claims 10 hours of battery life. The other version of the Eee Pad is the EP101TC, which will have a 10 inch screen and Windows Embedded Compact 7. The EP121 will feature the ability for a "hybrid keyboard/docking station," which allows for the traditional notebook-style keyboard. While it has not officially been announced yet, it is expected that both devices will have a capacitive touch screen. The price window of both devices is somewhere between $399 and $499.
The devices are both still early prototypes, but Engadget has posted a video (at end of post) of both devices showing the idea of them. The release is slated to be sometime in 2011, so there is still a while to wait until we see these on the market.
