A new report from TechCrunch today seems to claim that Microsoft's Bing search engine will be integrated into iPhone OS 4. The report initially noted that they have received information from a source that stated Apple would completely be removing Google from iPhone OS 4, and replacing it with Bing products.

However, TechCrunch updated their article later into the day today and have said that they have received more information that claims “It’s more complicated than this” and "not to expect Google search to be removed from the iPhone next month."

It also seems that Microsoft explicitly asked Apple to integrate Bing Search into iPhone OS 4, but not the usual way Apple does it. You may not have known this, but, you can actually set Yahoo! as the default search engine in iPhone OS, but to do this, you would have to go into system settings and change it. Microsoft has reportedly said that they don't want this, but they are seeking a more direct and easier way for the user to switch the default search engine.

It has been rumored for months now that Apple is planning to remove Google from the picture in iPhone OS, including Google Maps and other Google services integrated into the iPhone OS, but it now seems Apple will just provide users with more choices.
