[Review] TweetDeck for Windows

Reviews

Hey guys, I wanted to do a review on TweetDeck for Windows. I have used the program for about a month. So, here it is.

The UI is very nice, and very simple to use. You have columns that have your Social Network information within them. If you are on several Social Networking site, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace, you can have a column for each of the sites.

With Twitter you get several column options: All Friends, Mentions, Direct Messages, New Followers, and Favorites.
With Facebook you also get several column options: Full News Feeds, Status Updates, Wall Posts, Photos, Videos, and Other
Myspace offers a variety of column choices as well: Friends Activity Stream, My Comments, and Friends Status and Moods

It also offers LinkedIn support, but I am not on that site, so I have no idea what the column choices are.

To update your status, you have a text box directly above the columns, and you easily type your status there. Above the text box it has a “From” section where you can choose which site you want to receive the status. Say you want to only update Twitter, not Facebook or Myspace, then you would un-highlight your Myspace and Facebook buttons, and highlight you Twitter.

A popup in the right hand corner of your screen will come up when someone from any of your registered accounts updates their status.

It, of course, requires an internet connection.

This picture shows where you choose your Status Update's location, and where you would post it

Overall, the Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and LinkedIn client works very well. The popup is a little disturbing when you are listening to music or watching a video, but it can be disabled in the settings menu. The popup is a little laggy, it takes a few minutes to popup after the status has been updated. Other then that, I haven’t noticed any problems with the software, no bugs or glitches. It works very well with Windows Vista, and I would recommend it to anyone who uses several Social Networking sites, like myself.

I give it a 9/10
