[UPDATE] Adobe Flash Player to come preinstalled on Google Chrome?

ZDNet is reporting today that Google is planning to bundle Adobe Flash Player into future builds of their web browser, Google Chrome, with no plugins necessary.

While the direct purpose of this is unknown, since 99% of computers have Flash installed already, it might be because Flash Player would then be bundled with Chrome OS, without the need of it being installed.

Another reason might be because of growing tensions between Adobe and Apple, and Apple and Google.

While it's still uncertain whether this is even true, we'll see if Google decides to follow through with this rumor in the next few builds of Google Chrome.

UPDATE: Google has announced today that they will be bundling Flash Player into Google Chrome. There is no word yet of when Google will add this into Chrome. The update is available on the Dev channel for all OS' versions of Google Chrome.

App Store is now integrated on Facebook

Browsing the App Store just got a little easier with the new App Store Facebook Page. The page was developed by Vitrue and allows users to search the App Store inside Facebook.

You can see the top apps and view sales charts for paid and free apps on the Featured tab, the same information you would get in the actual iTunes Store. Users can also click "Get App" and if installed, iTunes will launch and allow you to purchase and download the application. Underneath that button is a "Share" button, which allows you to share the app with friends on your wall.

Vitrue has said that they are still working on adding more features to the App Store on Facebook.

Some smart developers, and hackers have found a way to over-clock webOS.

Palm isn't happy about that, and they haven't actually thanked the hackers .

Here is what Palm has to say about it,

While we appreciate the effort the webOS community has put forth to try and help us along that path, the use of this application is neither endorsed nor recommended by Palm and will likely result in a voided warranty.

Google Android’s next mission… Stop fragmentation

Android's software has taken off quickly, and Google has a lot to show for it with all of their software versions 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 2.1. There is only one major problem with the software, and that is fragmentation.

Wireless phone manufactures won't stay up to date with the software,
For example

  • Motorola Cliq is a relativity new phone running Android 1.6
  • Motorola Cliq XT is a new phone running Android 1.6.

But to get back on subject here, the problem with the software versions is when developers develop applications they have a hard time getting them to work on all of the versions of Android. Sometimes you see apps that will say, Works on Android 2.1, 2.0 and 1.6, but not 1.5, and the reason for that is Fragmentation.

A big rumor flying around CTIA was Google's next version of Android. It is rumored to reduce fragmentation. Google supposedly plans to do that by completely rebuilding the software.

So maybe when we see Fro-yo, or Gingerbread appear, all apps will work together.

Remember we reported that the Verizon Nexus One showed it's face on the Google phone site?

Well,

Engadget is reporting that some tipster told Soft Sailor that the Verizon Nexus One could be launched by the end of next week. This information is unverifiable. It is hard to believe because it was said to be released on March 23rd as well, and that has came and gone CDMA Nexus One-less.

They are also reporting that jkOnTheRun know's some people in "positions to know", and they say it will definitely be launched in April. It also features a "surprise" that other US Carriers lack. Could this "surprise" be Sense UI??
