According to reports, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, sent an email reply to a user in Sweden who asked whether the Wi-Fi-only iPad could be tethered to the iPhone saying “No.”
Jezper Söderlund, from Slashat.se, reports that he sent Steve Jobs an email saying that he was interested in buying an iPad, but had one question:
I’m also awaiting the release of the iPad. However, I have one question: Will the wifi-only version somehow support tethering thru my iPhone?
Apple first introduced tethering on the iPhone with OS 3.0. AT&T said that the feature would be available during the summer of 2009, but never delivered and have yet to give an update to when tethering will be coming to the iPhone.
Also, Jobs has responded to another customer who emailed him saying that he cannot believe the iPad has 10 hours of battery life in such a small form factor. Jobs replied:
“… yes, we are getting 10 hours in 1.5 pounds.”
Notably, in this email, he actually responded using the iPad.
The iPad is set to launch on April 3rd in the United States.
