ChangeWave today released information on a survey conducted recently, showing that Apple is slated to take the top e-Book reader spot in terms of purchases. 40% of the purchases in the survery said that they will be buying an iPad in the next 90 days, instead of another e-Reader. Amazon's Kindle holds the second spot in the survey at 28%, with Barnes and Noble's Nook placing third at 6%.
Another interesting number in the survery shows that from customers who already own an e-Reader, 27% would have purchased an iPad if it would have been available when they made their purchase. 45% of purchasers would still have purchased their current e-reader, while 30% registered as undecided.
Finally, when looking at the timing of an iPad purchase, 6% of customers said they would purchase it within the first week. The highest percentage was 4-6 months after the initial release, 23%. 8% of customers said they would be waiting more than a year from its initial launch to purchase an iPad.
