According to Engadget, Microsoft has officially confirmed that current applications on Windows Mobile will not be compatible with Windows Phone 7 Series. This seemed logical from the begining because of the brand new user interface, structure and other feature changes in the Windows Phone 7 Series OS.
However, Microsoft did say that they will continue working with companies to suport Windows Mobile 6.5 and its applications to allow optimal compatibility with its customers.
