On March 7th, AT&T will be launching their first Android OS phone, the Motorola Backflip. However, according to Engadget, all of the phones search features point to Yahoo! Search, instead of Google. It seems kind of strange that on a Google Android OS device, the default search engine is Yahoo!. From the report:

"Yahoo has replaced Google as the default search provider throughout the phone. It's crazy: the home screen widget, the browser, everything's been programmed to use Yahoo."

Android OS is packed with many Google widgets and products and to have Yahoo! Search as the default on the device seems very odd. In fact, there is currently no known way to change the the search engine used to Google. There is not even a way to get a Google widget on the device. The only obvious explanation for using Yahoo! on Android OS is that AT&T and Google don't mix.

It is unknown whether the device or other devices that use Android will keep features like Google Maps, Gmail and other Google services, or whether AT&T would replace them with their own service.
