20 years ago today, Photoshop was released. Photoshop is a professional-level, photo editing software. The application changed the way people edited photos.
Photoshop was created in 1987 by Thomas Knoll, a student at the University of Michigan, and later his brother, John Knoll, helped out in developing the application. In September 1988, John Knoll presented a demo of Photoshop to Adobe executives, and they liked it. Then, a licensing agreement was created. In February 1990, after 10 months of development, Photoshop 1.0 was released to the public.
And today, Adobe and Photoshop celebrate its 20th birthday. Photoshop has become the industry standard in editing photos for both commercial and home use.
