According to the Associated Press, Google has decided to lower the early termination fee’s for the Nexus One.

Before this was announced, customers who wanted to return the device early would have to pay Google’s “equipment recovery fee”, which was $350. Along with the $179 customers payed for the phone itself, this can get pretty expensive. Also, customers would have to pay $250 if they were existing T-Mobile customers, upgrading to the Nexus One. The new prices are $150 for the early termination and $50 for the T-Mobile upgrade fee.

Earlier today, Google said:

“We have been looking for ways to improve our customers’ experience, so we were able to work with T-Mobile to find a better solution for our customers.”

I would be surprised if Verizon goes for that when they get the Nexus One.
