Sometimes, you want to use your Mac as your iPhone or iPod touch's wireless network to avoid all the troubles of setting it up to your home's wireless connection. Follow these steps to setup a basic wireless network connection between your Mac and iPhone or iPod touch
Step 1: Click on the Airport icon in the menu bar and click “Create Network”

Step 2: Name your network, pick a channel (default if usually good) and choose if you want a password for the network or not. Click “OK” when you are finished
Step 3: Head over to your iPhone or iPod touch and launch Settings
Step 4: Enter the Wi-Fi settings
Step 5: Tap on the network name that you just selected and enter a password if needed
Step 6: That should be it. Close the Settings app and browse the Internet using your Mac’s Internet connection!
