iPad, Whats Wrong With it?

I’m sure many of us know that Apple’s latest creation, the iPad was released this past week on the 27th.  This product did not only come with a questionable name, but tons of negativity, many people seem to hate the thing, so why did Steve Jobs (Apple.inc CEO) have so much faith in his new baby?  I believe that the iPad is not meant for the “power user” or the tech savvy, but the people whom its targeted for and who will benefit from the device is the average joe, the normal consumer who does not know the different between  firewire and  USB.  Sure the iPad is missing some key features like a USB hub or a “real OS” but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was a fail. unless we are talking about the name.  I think that the people who slam the iPad are looking at it from the wrong angle, I mean, you can hold the internet people!!! But actually, in my optimistic Apple fan boy mind, the iPad is simply a Kindle with benefits, and again I know that it has a backlight and whatever so its not a real e-reader but that shouldn't matter that much. Its going to change the print business like it did to the music business, you’ll be able to download the latest book online through iTunes and subscribe to the New York Times without having to walk outside and pick it off the porch. We also have to realize that the iPad is the first of its kind and will almost definitely be improved within the next year and will be a way better machine.  Will I buy one? No, I don’t have $500 dollars to drop and I have no real use for it, I have a iPod and a computer thats all I need right now, maybe when it grows, but thats a maybe.  What do you think? BlackBerry Storm 3

RIM is working on another Storm. It was codenamed “Mr. T” which has now changed to “Talladega.”  Of course a SurePress Touchscreen. I cannot guarantee the information is correct, but I trust the insider.

Possible Specs

• There are currently 2 prototype versions of the Storm 3 - One with a slide-out keyboard and one without a slide-out keyboard. The Storm 3 keyboard-less has about a 90% chance of making it out. The Storm Slider has about a 5% and well the other 5% is, it may never come out.

• The screen is composed of 16.7 million colors, and it is supposed to be a lot better then the Storm 1 and Storm 2’s screen.
• The browser will be upgraded to allow tabbed browsing. The tabs would be located at the bottom of the browser.

• Blackberry Messenger will be updated significantly to include skins. You will now be able to add themes and change color-sets.

• OS Beta 5.1.100.13 will include “Widgets” like the one’s found on HTC’s SenseUI

• 512 MB ram. (No word on expandable memory)
• 19 second boot time (In my opinion is very quick, the Palm Pre Plus boots up in 3 minutes.)
• Thinner and better battery life.

It is expected to be debuted at WES (Wireless Enterprise Symposium) in April.  I will know more then, Stay tuned!
